  1. I met Liz on as I was driving to college and I stopped by to visit Sarah. She was nice and even offered me a drink and a snack while I waited for Sarah to arrive. Chris I don't remember meeting I've blacked out the memory for my own mental well being. It's just to painful. I've known Liz for about 13yrs and Chris for a wow.. I don't know, but long enough to love him and find out he is a perfect fit for Liz. So happy for you guys as you start your family!

  2. I'm Liz, the mom-to-be. I think most of you know, or have at least met me. I'm currently in our new house in Sacramento (a rental) that we moved into a couple weeks ago - we've still got a LOT of settling in to do!

I think it's obvious how I know Chris;-) But for those of you who don't know the story of how I first met him, here it is: I first met Chris when he strolled into my office at the Working Families Party in Albany, NY. He was there to start his training as one of my co-workers; he was being assigned to our Syracuse office. It was January, 2005 and one of the first things I noticed about him is that he was wearing Birkenstock sandals ... in upstate NY .... in January. Given the snow and sludge lining the sidewalks outside, I remember having questions about his judgment and/or intelligence. Luckily, I took the time to get to know him and was able to see that he is not lacking in those areas, but he was just accustomed to winters of the NW variety.

  3. I'm Chris. Dad to be. I had a different memory for our first meeting. We were training in NYC. I did arrive in Birkenstock's (mistake), and I had all of my possessions in a very small blue car. That was towed off the streets of Brooklyn. I told everyone the next day about my adventures and Liz explained that the same thing happened to her when she started. Twice. Clearly were meant for each other.

  4. I''m Michelle - Liz's older and sweetest cousin living in NH. I've know Liz ever since she was born with a head full of blond curls and a perpetual smile on her face! I don't remember the first time I met Chris - it may have been when we helped them move into their Boston apt??? Never thought we'd get those couches through the door! I am so excited for these two to be parents! They are going to be amazing!

    1. Oops, somehow I think I deleted what I wrote. Here it is again:

What a great idea! I'm Genia -- Liz and I met the first week of law school when we sat next to each other in Civil Procedure. For the first few weeks, I thought Liz had a twin at our school but turns out it was someone else, who doesn't look like her at all aside from having curly hair. There is no way I would have passed Civil Procedure without Liz's help! Through Liz I obviously met Chris and Woof, and shared many delicious home-cooked meals with them throughout our three years in Boston.

I'm so excited for you guys to be parents! Can't wait to show those babies -- and their parents -- around New York City!

  6. I'm Kathy and am Liz's favorite cousin who lives in Tennessee! I've known her all her life and have great memories of a little curly blonde 5-year-old running around the soccer field....will she end up being a soccer mom......? So happy for both of you! You will be wonderful parents...

  7. I'm Sarah - Liz's sister. We (obviously) have known each other her whole life. I met, and quickly loved Chris, about 6 1/2 years ago. My sister, like the rest of our family, is an overachiever. Its not like there was a big competition or anything, but it seemed like whatever Liz set her hand to, she was good at. So when I found my groove, it was in being a mom...and I am so thrilled to share that experience with her as well. I know, without a doubt, that she and Chris will be AMAZING parents... but still, she had to go and prove she can reproduce as well as I... twins! haha... seriously, I am SO thrilled!

  9. This is Katy and Shawn. Katy and Liz went to college together- both studying women's studies and psychology. A few years after graduation, Katy and Liz ran into each other in Top's in Albany. Katy and Liz jumped around Top's, talking excitedly, while Shawn hung about, eventually finishing the shopping. As Shawn got to know Liz better, he too would jump around excitedly in her presence. And then Chris entered the picture and the jumping got a lot louder. Hilarity ensued with euchre, Celtics, friendsgiving and salad bowl.

  10. Okay blogspot, stop eating my posts! It's Leah and Nathan - Nathan went to law school with Liz, and we too were treated to many a fine evening at Chez L and C. And we too have twins! And all I can say is that after the first 3 months or so, once they start actually smiling at you, it just gets better and better. You two have just the right temperaments to be hugely entertained by the chaos that will become your lives...woohoo!

  11. Liz and I are friends from college...we met roughly 15 years ago (crazy to think that it was that long ago). I met Chris when Liz was still living in Albany and have been lucky enough to hang out with him several times since. They are both such fun people to hang out with; I wish we lived closer so I could see them more often. I have no doubt in my mind that Liz and Chris are going to make amazing parents!! I look forward to seeing all of the updates and hopefully meeting the little ones someday!

  12. I went to college with Liz as well, and met Chris when they lived in Albany. I had a teacher certification exam in Saratoga, so I stayed overnight with them, and when I got up to go to my exam my car was gone... it had been towed for a race that morning. Liz carted me all over that day, to take my exam and track down my car. I had no idea they both had such a history of towed cars, or I would have been more careful! ;-) I was lucky enough to be close to them for a couple of years in Boston, and got to know Chris' awesome cooking and fantastic sense of humor. They're going to be pretty cool parents, and I can't wait to hear all of the stories and make my way out west to see them!

  13. I also went to college with Liz and had the pleasure of meeting Chris when they moved to Boston for Liz's law school career. There's been a lot less excitement around town since they left for the "other" coast ;-) For example: since they left there have been 0 instances of anyone thinking he can jump over a parking meeting, definitely NOT making it, causing damage to his person and then suddenly having a random friend appear out of nowhere on his moped to whisk him away to the hospital :-) Nor have I found anyone to play games with who is as competitive as Liz! So really things here are pretty dull since they left us :-( But we are VERY excited to welcome their little bundles and know that they are going to be awesome parents who will impart much wisdom on this next generation along with a lot of love.
