The Newly Parent Game - FINAL ROUND!

Just a reminder, we are running out of time to get gifts shipped to the shower for Saturday!  Make sure to allow for shipping time.

And here we go, the final round!

The questions were:

Who is likely to change more diapers?

Who will be the first to cry when the babies are born?

What was the first thing each of you said when you heard that you'd be having twins?

The Newly Parent Game - PART TWO

The questions posed in this round relate to Liz!

1) How much did Liz weigh at birth?

2) What city was Liz born in?
3) What was Liz's childhood nickname?

4) What was Liz's first word?

5) What was Liz's favorite childhood book?

The Newly-Parent Game

We are going to play a little game.

Everyone wins, because this one is just for fun!

This game may remind you of a game you have seen before.....

but it's slightly different...

Recently Liz and Chris were asked the same questions, pertaining to Chris.  The questions they were asked were:

1.  How much did Chris weigh at birth?

2.  What city was Chris born in?

3.  What was Chris' childhood nickname?

4.  What was Chris' first word?

5.  What was Chris' favorite childhood storybook?

Now... before you watch the videos, take a stab at what you think Chris will say about himself, what Liz will say about him, and... maybe you know that neither have the truth!

Here is what Chris has to say:

Untraditional naming dilemmas

So Chris and I are in bit of a quandary when it comes to picking names for the kiddos.  While many parents-to-be spend a bunch of time sifting through and debating first names for their kids, where we're really struggling is on what to do about last names, since we both kept our own last names.  While we will respectfully pass on any suggestions, advice or judgment you have to offer about first names, we thought it would be fun to get some perspective from the peanut gallery on what we should do about last names.  As a caveat, we reserve the right to disregard the will of the majority.

Here are the possibilities we've come up with so far (in no particular order).  Cast your vote for your favorite option!

(a) have one Dedrick and one Gorman (how lucky are we to be getting twins?!)

(b) flip a coin off the babies' toes with one name heads and the other tails; whichever side the coin lands on, give both kids that name

(c) make up a new name that involves some combination of our names (e.g. Dedman, Gordrick, or O'Dedrick (giving homage to Chris' Irish roots))

(d) write-in your own idea

We are both in agreement that hyphenating is not an option, so don't bother making that your write-in candidate;-)

Fun Facts!

A few weeks ago, we started taking Bradley method childbirth classes.  They've been pretty fun thus far and I think they'll help us feel as prepared as we can for the process of actually welcoming these babies into the world.

In the past two weeks, we've learned a couple facts in these classes that I thought others might find interesting:

1. The uterus is the strongest muscle in the human body.  It can exert 45 lbs of pressure per square inch.

2. Since I'm pregnant with twins, I have approximately 100% more blood in my body than I did before I was pregnant.

Given fact #2, I'm hoping there are no vampires nearby.  But if there are, I'm fairly confident that they'll be scared away by the power of my uterus (see fact #1) :-D
